Avalanche danger is one of the most complex topics in mountain sports. While other risks can be assessed to some degree, the risk of an avalanche often goes unnoticed. There is often not much between the joy of kicking up powder snow and a possibly fatal avalanche accident. Therefore, it is extremely important to engage with the basics and sensible risk management. You can only gauge the danger if you know what to look for. And you can only assess the risk if you understand the interplay between all of the elements.
