Le nom du PEAK LIGHT 32 est tout un programme : conçu pour les sommet les plus exigeants en haute montagne, ce sac à dos d'alpinisme léger, robuste ne comporte aucune fioriture superflue mais toutes les options de fixation importantes et convainc par son design minimaliste et sa légèreté. Ceux qui souhaitent réduire encore son poids peuvent retirer la ceinture, le rabat, le renfort dorsal, le porte-piolet et le D-Skifix. Le poids déjà faible peut ainsi être encore réduit de 30 % en un tour de main. Une autre particularité est le système dorsal Swisswool HYBRID BACK SYSTEM innovant : dans les zones de contact particulièrement sollicitées, trois pads Swisswool doux assurent confort et régulation de la température en absorbant beaucoup d'humidité sans paraitre mouillé. Ainsi, même les passages les plus fatigants en montagne peuvent être gravis confortablement pour un maximum de plaisir jusqu'au sommet. Les deux principaux matériaux extérieurs sont composés de polyamide recyclé à 100 % et à 50 %, ce qui rend le sac à dos extrêmement robuste et résistant. Les détails bien pensés, la légèreté et le système dorsal innovant font du PEAK LIGHT 32 un sac à dos ultra fonctionnel pour les alpinistes qui pensent que le renoncement est synonyme de plus de fonctionnalité.

Depuis 2011, nous utilisons la laine Suisse Swisswool comme matériau isolant. Cette laine d'origine locale possède d'excellentes propriétés thermiques même lorsqu'elle est mouillée, elle est facile à entretenir et régule parfaitement le niveau d'humidité et de température.

A well constructed and comfortable pack.
I recently bought the Peak Light 32, in the color red, because that color is easy to spot. I wanted to try this pack out mainly because of the very practical J zipper, that makes getting into the pack extremely easy. I have to admit that the thought of a zipper that long, and placed the way it is, was a little scary. What if the pack is bursting with gear, and the zipper breaks? Loosing your gear in the high mountains could represent a major problem, and the thought wasn’t lost on me. However, Ortovox, and others have been using this kind of zipper for a number of years, and if the construction didn’t work, they would probably have changed the concept altogether. Now, after having tested the pack out, I can say that the zipper is extremely practical, and makes getting into the pack a breeze. And as long as the pack is not bursting to the brim, it’s no problem closing the zipper as well. Besides that, the pack is very comfortable to wear. On one of my mountain adventures, the pack weighed 11 kg, and I was out for more than 11 hours. At the end of the day, I had no aches or pains, and my shoulders were totally fine (the shoulder straps are very well constructed). The pack has an aluminum frame, and it was easy to shape it to fit my back exactly. The lid has a nice and spacious pocket on top, and a smaller pocked underneath. The pocket on the hip belt can also hold a few snacks, and the zipper is easy to manipulate. The Peak Light 32 is a very nice and practical pack, and I’m very happy with my purchase. The only things I would recommend changing is the length of the side compression straps. Both straps should be longer, so it’s possible to attach a ground mat to the side of the pack, and the lower side compression strap should have a G hook as well. I solved the ground mat situation by attaching a bungee cord to the non zippered side and using that to attach the ground mat (it’s an easy fix). I also cut off the bottom slider buckle on the other side, and replaced it with another G hook to make it easier to attach my hiking poles (also an easy fix). I’ve now carried the pack for a number of hours, and I have yet to find any cons. If it wasn’t comfortable, I wouldn’t wear it. And it’s very practical as well, so I have to give it two thumbs up.
