I have the 26s version of this backpack (apparently no longer sold by Ortovox). I like the amount of gear it holds, the brain, and the internal zip pocket where I keep spare carabiners and other items I need to have secure. The straps to securely hold down the climbing rope are helpful for keeping the pack in balance as well. Unfortunately, after only 1 year of use, the zippers on the bottom of the pack are failing. I don't know if it's from poor quality materials or that they are positioned in a place where they incur a lot of friction, but it's unexpected to see this with only typical use of this pack. The zipper to the helmet attachment pocket has completely failed so it no longer renders any use. I have to stow the helmet holder in the main compartment now. Also, the waist strap is very long and there's no good way to tuck away the excess, which dangles by the knees and is a tripping hazard. Agree with other reviewers in that the hook/loop closures for the straps are annoying and difficult to use.

For my uses this is the best climbing pack on the market. I am a US-based climbing guide, and work in Yosemite, Red Rocks, the Sierra, and the Cascades. I have used dozens of packs, and own several from Black Diamond, Mountain Hardware, Mountain Equipment, Blue Ice, Arcteryx, and HMG. This beats them all. I can fit a double rack of cams, layers, med kit, food, 2 liters of water, and emergency kit in this bag, with the rope and helmet carrying neatly on the outside. The pack has a removable aluminum tube frame, which allows it to carry a dense load of gear with remarkable comfort. This is much better than other 24 to 30L climbing packs I've used, which often give me back problems on long approaches if I'm carrying more than 20lbs. I have hauled the pack up more than a dozen pitches of rock when the climbing was too difficult to ascend with the pack on my back, and the fabric has held-up much better than most of my other packs that I've hauled (better than my acrteryx alpha and my BD packs for example. Not better than my HMG though). The wrap-around zipper is awesome for getting to a layer I hastily stuffed in the bottom rather than top of the pack. The metal buckles on the side-cinch straps do frequently come undone on their own if there is not tension. However, the metal waist belt buckle has never come undone. The ice axe attachment works great. The pack weighs about 1kg, is low profile, and easy to climb with. I have gone through two of these packs so far, and will likely purchase a third. Highly recommend- especially if you are a trad climbing, alpine climber, or ice climber and need a light weight pack that climbs well and can actually handle a heavier load.

Super Rucksack. Aber bitte wieder mit Klipp-Schnalle am Hüftgurt. Der jetzige Hakenverschluss ist leider sehr unpraktisch!

Zaino molto ben costruito. Ottima la zip laterale ,comodo l'accesso alla sacca principale. Zaino molto stabile e comodo. Belle giornate molto calde purtroppo lo schienale fa sudare la schiena e non si asciuga rapidamente come altri zaini. Una tasca sugli spallacci per mettere il telefono o piccoli oggetti sarebbe stata molto comoda.

An sich ein schöner, leichter, gut durchdachter Rucksack mit super Sitz für Tagestouren, Wochenenden, Hochtouren, Klettern und Skigeschichten. Top Größe, cool der große seitliche Eingriff, Helmnetz und Attachment Points, wertige Schnallen etc. Einzig den Reißverschluss beim Deckelfach hätte mir mittig besser gefallen, damit nicht alles rausfällt beim öffnen. Material leider weitaus nicht so robust wie gedacht: hatte vergangenes WE Skier seitlich im A-Frame befestigt (wie Bild hier auf der Webseite), die Skikante hat mir ein Loch reingeschnitten auf dem Weg zum Bahnhof. Ärgerlich, reparierbar, aber da hätte ich mehr erwartet!
