Gain First Aid Knowledge with the ORTOVOX SAFETY ACADEMY
When mountaineering or alpine climbing, or on alpine tours, accidents or sudden illnesses are possible even with good preparation, planning and execution. In these situations, knowledge of first aid is essential: Only then will you be able to respond quickly and safely in the case of an emergency. In order to convey this in-depth knowledge, ORTOVOX is offering alpine first aid courses within the scope of the SAFETY ACADEMY and in cooperation with first aid expert ALPINE ERSTE HILFE. The course concept is specifically tailored for alpine mountaineers – whether for mountaineering, climbing or for alpine tours.
Fast first aid can save lives. In contrast to areas with well-established infrastructure, conditions in the mountains make professional rescues more difficult. Difficulty accessing the scene of accident, weather conditions or a high climb for the rescue services can extend the waiting time. Therefore the demands on the first responder increase.
Course details
The summer courses cover practical responses to mountain accidents, from treating injured persons, to performing resuscitation and transporting them out of the alpine terrain. Meanwhile, the winter courses focus specifically on emergency situations in snow, including avalanche accidents and the safe use of first aid kits.
