Find out more about Markus
A qualified chef, Markus doesn’t wish to compromise with regards to a balanced and varied diet when he’s out and about. He acquired his skills over many years in Munich’s top culinary scene before becoming independent and founding his own catering company on the Ammersee.
Aside from cooking, his main passion is for outdoor sport. His VW-bus is stacked high with surfboards, skis, mountain bikes and, of course, cooking utensils. As a climber, surfer, mountainbiker, mountaineer and alpinist, he often finds himself in extreme (ski) terrain. Refueling on energy with a balanced diet is an important aspect of regenerating and preparing for the next tour because mountain sports require a great deal of energy and stamina.
In 2016 Markus released his first cookbook. “The Great Outdoors” series (winter edition available in stores from Autumn 2017), contains a wide range of outdoor recipes for anyone who requires healthy powerfood when out and about. The recipes range from light, vegetarian cuisine to energizing meals, through to snacks and isotonic thirst quenchers. Also included are exciting stories and tips from the world of mountaineering.
