Nathan Chaszeyka

I grew up in Ohio playing ice hockey, but the first time I saw the mountains of the west, I knew I wanted to live a mountain life. As soon as I got the opportunity, I loaded my van and moved to Yosemite, then on to Las Vegas to climb the sandstone of Red Rock and many years later to Salt Lake. Along the way I discovered my passion for skiing and it became consuming. Ski mountaineering has allowed me to combine my love for climbing with my passion for skiing in these wild places. I balance my free time in the mountains with efforts to give back by working as a ski patroller and with the Utah Avalanche Center as an observer.
