For hard ascents and unforgettable descents

Robust, breathable softshell pants with loden inserts for vigorous tours

Highlights

  • Innovative membrane with moisture and temperature management
  • Excellent ventilation thanks to a mesh lining and ventilation zippers
  • High level of comfort thanks to a merino wool lining

The PORDOI PANTS for men are designed for demanding ascents and speedy descents – whatever the weather.

Thanks to the innovative C_CHANGE™ MEMBRANE FROM SCHOELLER®, these premium softshell pants react to sweat build-up with special moisture and temperature management: When it’s cold, the membrane closes – as soon as the body becomes too hot, the pores open to regulate the temperature.
Side zippers provide extra ventilation, while the fine merino wool lining and merino mesh inserts in the waistband ensure a pleasant feel on the skin. Protection against sharp edges on the inner leg and integrated gaiters coated with silicon on the inside make our premium softshell pants a reliable companion for a day in the snow.

So with our PORDOI PANTS for men you’ll be ready for even the most challenging tours and can enjoy your winter adventure to the full.

Merino Inside

Our sustainable MERINO WOOL comes from monitored, ethical sheep farms. It is comfortably soft, easy to care for, and provides an optimum body climate thanks to its moisture- and temperature-regulating properties.

C_CHANGE Membran by Schöller

The C_CHANGE active membrane by SCHOELLER is not only wind- and waterproof, it is also “intelligent”: it opens and closes its polymer structure in order to regulate temperature and sweat production depending on the weather conditions.

Naturetec Schöller

SCHOELLER®-NATURETEC is a weatherproof softshell combination of fine MERINO WOOL and durable polyamide. It is elastic and comfortably soft, and its high breathability provides a good body climate.

loden steiner

Loden has been providing protection against the elements for centuries. Today, ORTOVOX uses high-quality loden materials from the traditional Austrian company STEINER and combines them with new fabrics.

The C-Change fabric is fantastic. It's the real highlight of these pants. The main fabric is a comfortable blend of weather resistance and breathability. I can't say I notice the pore changes in the laminate, but whether it's cold and stormy, or hot and sunny I still feel comfortable all the time with the same wool base layer. I haven't bothered using the size zips even hiking up hill in 40F+ degree weather. The light stretch and relaxed fit is enough to support free movement, even with knee pads on underneath. As a nice bonus, they are not saggy like an overly stretchy soft-shell, even when wetted. Great soft hand. I haven't worn them without long-johns, but the inner fabric seems soft, comfy, and layers smoothly. I really like the boot cuffs and inner gaiters. The zip open legs are plenty large enough to work with unbuckled AT boots for going up, and when zipped up they look quite normal for daily wear. On so many ski pants, the inner cuffs are too tight and difficult to use with gloves when you're transitioning on the top of a mountain. These inner cuffs strike a great balance of keeping snow out, but remaining loose enough that it's never a struggle in the field. The beacon pocket is great. It's a must-have in a modern ski pant and this version works great. The beacon remains secure and comfortable. I like the small top pockets for keys, sunscreen etc... There are two minor quirks, but they really aren't a big deal. I wish there were two belt loops in the front, but these were really easy to sew on myself. The wool fabric on the front pockets collects snow, but it's not a big deal just a strange choice for outwear. Overall, these are my favorite all around backcountry ski pants.

These are the best soft shell pants I have ever used in my life. In fact, they may be the most comfortable pair of pants I own, period. Just an amazing material that is stretchy, soft and warm. Beyond the fit (which is very neutral), and material, the pants have excellent functionality. The pockets are well designed; two for hands and two on the thigh, one of which has a transceiver pouch and a well designed clip. The sides have good sized vents and the cuffs are my favorite part. No zippers to gaff about with, just a really good stretch material that’s easy to get over your ski boot yet creates a solid seal to keep snow out. This is the perfect soft shell pant. 10/10 These are the best soft shell pants I have ever used in my life. In fact, they may be the most comfortable pair of pants I own, period. The pants are actually fantastic in terms of climate management and wearing comfort. After 3 years, however, material fatigue is now visible in the area of the crotch, which will subsequently (estimatedly 3-5 tours) lead to the fabric tearing. With such a proud price (and especially in combination with resource-saving handling), I don't find the price-performance ratio very wrong.
