Made for hard ascents and unforgettable descents!

Robust, breathable softshell jacket with loden inserts for vigorous tours

  • innovative membrane with moisture and temperature management
  • excellent ventilation thanks to a mesh lining and ventilation zippers
  • high level of comfort thanks to a merino wool lining

Made for demanding tours, the premium softshell PORDOI JACKET for men offers protection and a high degree of comfort thanks to its loden inserts and merino wool.

For demanding ascents and speedy descents: The PORDOI JACKET for men can handle ski tours in any kind of weather.
Thanks to the C_CHANGE™ SCHOELLER® MEMBRANE, the premium softshell jacket also reacts to sweat build-up with special moisture and temperature management: When it’s cold, the membrane closes – as soon as the body becomes too hot, the pores open to regulate the temperature. The new mesh lining on the breast pockets provides additional ventilation, while the fine merino wool inner lining continues to ensure great comfort. The loden inserts with underlying membrane have been repositioned and now protect even the chin area against wind and weather.
So with our PORDOI JACKET men you’ll be ready for anything and can enjoy your winter adventure to the full, whatever the weather.

The virgin wool we use for the loden is produced locally in Switzerland. SWISSWOOL has set up collection stations specifically for this purpose in many Swiss Alpine valleys, some of which are very remote, guaranteeing a fair price for raw wool. This has led to a revival in sheep farming and wool production, which are often quite unprofitable. After the raw wool has been weighed, it is washed and then processed. ORTOVOX then provides the unique design and functionality during the manufacture of the end product.

Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear. Our merino wool comes from happy sheep reared on monitored, ethical sheep farms. The wool is naturally ecological and therefore super sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibers in its fine woolen threads, merino wool feels extremely soft and comfortable on the skin.  In addition to comfort, merino wool also provides an ideal personal body climate by regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial effect, odor neutralizing.

Merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear since 1995. The focus of this has always been the protection of people, animals and nature: Our merino wool comes from selected farms that comply with our own wool standard: the ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE. These farms are regularly monitored within the framework of the OWP to ensure that the highest standards of animal welfare are maintained. The OWP is our commitment to fair wool.

I have worn the Pordoi skiing about 30 times now and I can attest that this jacket offers exceptional protection from wind and snow without being bulky or occluding interior moisture (sweat!). The merino in the chin/face area is extremely comfortable on the face and condensation doesn't seem to build up when you are hunkered down under the hood and behind the collar. The Pordoi is now a go-to piece of kit for me whenever I am on the snow.

Merino Wool

Our wool has its origins at the heart of a natural paradise. Where the air is at its purest, the food rich, and the climate moderate – this is where the best merino wool in the world can be found.
