Learn all about wool
Tasmania
Where does our merino wool come from? Come with us on a journey to Tasmania: Three million merino sheep on an area the size of Bavaria, unimaginably vast landscapes and a fabulous natural environment are the origin of our most important commodity.
More InfoSheep
When talking about the wool's origin, we're really talking about the sheep themselves: In Tasmania, they have a unique habitat to call home. Here, merinos have access to excellent air, fresh grass and almost unlimited space to roam.

FUNCTIONALITY OF MERINO WOOL
A PERFECT FIBRE

TEMPERATURE REGULATING
Wool can absorb more than 35% of its own weight in moisture (without feeling wet to the touch). If the ambient air is warm, the moisture dries faster, resulting in this refreshing evaporative coolness.
Learn moreODOR NEUTRALIZING
With wool, you can get by with just a few items of clothing, even on mountain hikes lasting several days. This is made possible by the protein molecules in the merino fibers which simply destroy odor-forming bacteria.
Learn moreEASY TO CARE FOR
The special finishing of our merino wool with the “Total Easy Care” process makes it possible to simply machine wash at 30 or 40°.
Learn moreMOISTURE REGULATING
Wool fibers are hydrophilic fibers – and that’s precisely what makes them extremely functional! They can absorb up to 35% of their own weight in moisture without feeling wet to the touch.
Learn moreSOFT
Merino wool does not itch! At 16,5 – 19,5 microns (one micron = one-thousandth of a millimeter), the fine wool fibers are so thin that they are well below the human itching threshold of 25 microns.
Learn moreRegrowing
Wool is ecological by nature! Depending on their race, merino sheep are shorn once to twice a year – so they grow a new coat all by themselves.
