While developing MERINO SHIELD SHELL, our softshell line, our focus was on creating high-performance products for high-alpine tours. Features such as robustness, comfort through freedom of movement and breathability were particularly important. The high proportion of CORDURA® in the material mix ensures the BEST POSSIBLE SCUFF RESISTANCE and LONGEVITY (min. 80.000 abrasion cycles in the Martindale test) and so offers optimum protection in the field. High FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT is guaranteed thanks to highly elastic Lycra fibers – the material used in the jacket and pants can be stretched by 20 %. Because we know how important it is that water vapor can escape from the inside to the outside problem-free, we trust a no-membrane design in the MERINO SHIELD SHELL line. To ensure that no water can permeate in from the outside, the surface of the jacket and pants is DWR-treated. Merino wool on the interior also ensures great wear comfort and a pleasant microclimate.
The PIZ BADILE softshell jacket provides you with optimal protection in rough, high alpine terrain. This alpine touring jacket has an athletic cut, and is highly elastic, light and extremely robust at the same time. There’s space for all the odds and ends you’ll need on the mountain in the two large front pockets and the small upper arm pocket. The front pockets are easy to access even when wearing a backpack, and can also be used for ventilation. Their asymmetrical design and the felted wool on the outside make the front pockets a real eye-catcher. Elasticated cuffs and waist ensure a good fit and keep cold air out.
THE NATURAL PARADISE OF TASMANIA
100% of the merino wool from this collection comes from the Australian island of Tasmania. The wool from this natural paradise is high-quality, thin (18 microns at ORTOVOX), and tear-resistant. But just as important for us, this material is ethically and ecologically sound. We have very high expectations of the farmers. A large portion of their working time is committed to ensuring sustainable farm management and animal welfare.
