The ski backpack for any situation

Versatile, technical and comfortable ski touring backpack for demanding tours

Highlights

  • optimum fit and load distribution
  • scuff and water-resistant
  • spacious and well designed

The HAUTE ROUTE has been around almost since the birth of ski touring. Our enduring classic is perfect for longer ski excursions.

Cordura®, PFC-free double-layered Polyamide 420D Oxford and PU coating on all fabrics make our HAUTE ROUTE 32 extremely scuff and water resistant. This backpack fits perfectly thanks to its load control cords and ergonomically shaped O-Flex-2 back system with S-shaped stabilizer, which distributes weight evenly between the hips and the shoulders, even over lengthy periods. The hip fins connect inside the back system so that they wrap comfortably and seamlessly around the body.

With its larger capacity, the HAUTE ROUTE 32 has space for all you may need. The spacious main compartment is accessible from the top and back, which means all backpack contents will be easily accessible, while a separate safety compartment provides rapid access to emergency equipment. Thanks to the rope attachment on the lid, you can pack and unpack your rope without having to open the backpack. In addition to the crampon fastening, ice axe and hiking pole fastening and fixed helmet net, there are also fasteners for a snowboard, for example. Skis can be fastened using either the classic or diagonal method.

No matter how long and challenging the tour, the HAUTE ROUTE 32 will equip you well for any multi-day tour.

Ski touring
This backpack is excellent in all its aspects, although it is for ski touring, its external attachments allow it great versatility (3 clip straps and 2 Velcro rings are supplied with the bag when you receive it) . I've used it in rock and ice mountaineering. The only downside, the waist strap is superimposed on the harness, making it difficult to access quickdraws, chockers, ice screws, etc. an adjustable belly strap like the one at the chest would be a big plus.

Bonjour Monsieur Voineau ! Hello Mr Voineau! Thank you for your constructive criticism regarding our Haute Route 32. As the backpack was designed primarily for ski touring, it is currently not possible to move the belt. Nevertheless, I will forward your comment to our production department. Here are two alternative solutions: 1. You could open the belt during climbing passages and close it behind the back so that you can access the equipment more easily while climbing. 2. There are so-called gear carriers/carritools for climbing gear. They allow you to gain freedom of movement. I hope my answer was helpful. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at shop@ortovox.com.
