Not waterproof

My family owns a combo of Ortler and Westalpen 3L jackets and pants. Unfortunately I reached the conclusion that the Dermizax membrane used in these shells is not waterproof and they also seem to have a flaw with how waterproof they are at the zippers. They ALL fail in wet sticky snow conditions or heavy rain. It is not a condensation issue, as they soak through even with no exertion. Some of our shells are more than 2 years old, some are about 1 year old. We also did a shower test and sent the videos to Ortovox showing that they all leak. Chest, shoulder and some of them also along the zippers. They offered to warranty only the shells that are less than 2 years old, and only with an different/inferior shell (Seceda) that is less suitable for the type of activities we do in the mountains. I would add that last year Ortovox did warranty a shell that was just a bit older that 2 years, but the received replacement fails the same way. Really unfortunate that these shells fail at their most important role for me, weather protection. We like the fit, the stretchiness, the ample venting, the color, but you can't rely on them for keeping you dry. They will be fine in dry and cold conditions (like dry cold snowfall), but for anything else you will be wet. Also, the water repellency of the outer fabric is the worse of all jackets I owned, it doesn't last, you will be re-treating the shell over and over. This may be related to how stretchy the fabric is. Overall we are disappointed with the product, and disappointed in how the company stands behind it. I believe the 2 year warranty is already a red flag, buyers should pay attention to this, and carefully ponder why it is only 2 years. If all-weather protection is important for you then there are much better shells on the market for a similar price that will keep you dry.
