Tradition meets functionality
Functional fleece hoody with traditional loden for cold winter days
In our MERINO FLEECE LODEN line, Austrian craftsmanship meets finest Tasmanian merino wool. In our FLEECE LODEN HOODY for women, we have combined tried-and-tested MERINO FLEECE material with traditional loden from the Austrian company STEINER. Even in the early days of alpinism, mountaineers relied upon felted Loden clothing produced by this company, which was founded in 1888.
A harmonious combination of Loden and MERINO FLEECE with polyester on the outside and pure merino wool on the inside gives FLEECE LODEN HOODY for women everything needed for cold winter days on the mountains. To ensure even more itch-free comfort, the Loden used in the hoody is made from Tasmanian merino wool.
On a ski tour, the warm hood with merino wool on the inside and the elastic cuffs ensure that wind and cold are kept at bay, while Loden inserts on the front protect the body’s core. Our fleece jacket combines the best of all components: Loden on the outside protects against cold, while the inside is soft and comfortable yet still extremely breathable. What’s more, the merino wool provides an optimum personal climate thanks to its moisture and temperature-regulating properties.
An ergonomic cut and high stretchability mean the FLEECE LODEN HOODY for women fits perfectly even during extreme activity. The practical breast pocket and bonded upper arm pocket have room for small items such as a map, cell phone or trail bar and can be easily accessed, even when wearing a backpack.
Tasmanian merino wool
Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear. Our merino wool comes from happy sheep reared on monitored, ethical sheep farms. The wool is naturally 100% ecological and therefore super sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibers in its fine woolen threads, merino wool feels extremely soft and comfortable on the skin. In addition to comfort, merino wool also provides an ideal personal body climate by regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial effect, odor neutralizing.
Loden was first used over hundreds of years ago as a functional fabric that could provide protection against the elements. ORTOVOX combines the high functionality of loden with new fabrics in various Ortovox lines. ORTOVOX sources Loden woven fabric from the Austrian company Steiner, which has been producing high-quality Loden material since it was founded in 1888.
The special features of wool fibers from Switzerland are their outstanding thermal properties and excellent climate control, as well as their regional origin.
