MORE FUNCTIONALITY FOR SKI TOURERS

Lightweight, water-resistant insulating jacket with SWISSWOOL for ski tours

The next chapter in our SWISSWOOL story! For the SWISSWOOL LIGHT TEC line, we have developed technical products that are low in weight and high in comfort for demanding ski tours.

The 60 g/m² SWISSWOOL lining and robust nylon ripstop shell of the SWISSWOOL PIZ BOÈ JACKET make it ideal for ski tourers who know that less is more: less weight, less volume, but more performance. To underscore the “high-tech” aspect of this ski touring jacket for men, we use our new elastic MERINO NATURETEC LIGHT material in the underarm areas – exactly where breathability and freedom of movement are needed most.

The tight-fitting, elastic hood and elastic waistband and cuffs keep the wind and cold at bay on freezing summits. The two front pockets and the breast pocket  are positioned for optimum access even when wearing a backpack or harness, and can even accommodate larger objects. What’s more, the PIZ BOÈ JACKET has an athletic cut: The lightweight insulating jacket thus follows your movements on ski tours and fits perfectly under a 3L hardshell jacket.

Material
SWISSWOOL
Born out of a pioneering spirit and shaped by our innovative strength, ORTOVOX introduced the first SWISSWOOL products in 2011 – and simultaneously created a new segment of insulating wool products! Wool offers excellent thermal properties and optimum climate comfort. In addition to high functionality, SWISSWOOL is also characterized by its regional origin, as well as its sustainable production and processing.

PERTEX® QUANTUM
We use Pertex® Quantum as the outer material for all our SWISSWOOL LIGHT and SWISSWOOL LIGHT TEC products. Pertex® Quantum uses a particularly tightly woven structure, which results in an extremely windproof and abrasion-resistant material. At the same time the material is soft and light.

SeeYou Matti Great jacket because of the wool and the ventilation zip at the front...unfortunately, huge non-isolating areas with stretch were introduced on the back. That always means a Kätebrücke.... and actually the jacket is supposed to keep you warm during endurance sports - a shame! My suggestion: tailor the same jacket but leave out the stretch inserts and, if necessary, two zips in the underarm area. I would buy them immediately! SeeYou Matti

A perfect insulated jacket to be worn under a shell for those cold days, or as an outer layer on cool days. This is my go to jacket when I need to knock the chill off the morning/evening, or when it's really cold outside and I need a warm mid-layer. The cuffs allow this jacket to layer well without bunching up at the sleeves, and the hood fits great. So whether you need a mid-layer for cold outings, or a mid-weight jacket for cool days, this is a great choice.

Den ganzen Winter im Einsatz gewesen mit der Verbier Freeride Jacke beim Winterbiken sowie an Foto- und Filmsets. Jetzt im Frühjahr auch noch. Tolle Jacke, super Schnitt, passt alles. Used the Verbier Freeride jacket all winter for winter biking and on photo and film sets. Now in spring too. Great jacket, great cut, everything fits.

A fantastic jacket. I have owned this jacket for a number of years now, and love this jacket. Where I'm wearing it under my Guardian jacket, or over my fleece hoodie. The jacket is a perfect fit to both fit under the shell, and comfortably over a insulation layer. It has two large pockets and one chest pocket. I also like the gussets at the wrists. I highly recommend this jacket.

ottima giacca, calda e nello stesso tempo leggera, l'unico appunto è che avrei messo una cerniera un po' più grande da usare anche con i guanti. nel complesso è un ottimo prodotto da usare a 360 °. excellent jacket, warm and light at the same time, the only complaint is that I would have put a slightly larger zipper to use even with gloves. overall it is a great product to use at 360 °.

USA

Ski touring
This is the single best midlayer I have ever owned! It works for alpine inbounds ski days, cold cross country days, and most importantly alpine touring days. It is VERY lightweight, but provides just enough insulation to keep you warm in relatively cold conditions (even when wet). My only complaint is that Ortovox seems to have eliminated this beautiful garment from the market (at least in USA marketplace)? Please put this back into production! I highly support bringing this specific version back and keeping it forever!
