Robust climbing jacket for alpine routes

Extremely durable, athletic stretch jacket for alpine climbing

Highlights

  • High scuff resistance
  • Water-resistant thanks to DWR treatment
  • Fine merino wool on the inside
  • Athletic cut for great freedom of movement

The massive, bizarre towers of the Pala group protrude from the stony alpine plateau. Climbing here in the southernmost mountain range of the Dolomites takes strong nerves – and strong material.

Our MERINO SHIELD TEC line was designed especially for such long, alpine routes. We have incorporated extremely scuff-resistant material into our PALA climbing JACKET for women. In the Martindale test for scuff resistance, the primary material was able to withstand over 50,000 abrasion cycles. In high-stress areas, we’ve used inserts that are even more robust (˃100,000 abrasion cycles in the Martindale test) to offer maximum protection from rugged rock faces. In addition, the MERINO SHIELD TEC line is made of polyamide and elastane on the outside and fine merino wool on the inside. This mix guarantees high breathability and will mirror all your movements on the rock face thanks to 4-WAY STRETCH material and a sleeve fit that is perfectly designed for climbing.

The PALA JACKET for women has an athletic cut and allows for maximum freedom of movement and flexibility when climbing. The elastic hood, which fits under a climbing helmet, as well as the elastic cuffs and adjustable seam, make for a close, comfortable fit without slipping. It is therefore perfect for climbing. The breast pocket has space for a map, cell phone, trail bar or other small items that you may need to access quickly during a long day of climbing.

The PALA JACKET uses a wind and water-resistant (DWR treated) material to provide ample protection against wind and light rain. The no-membrane design and fine Merino wool on the inside provide ample breathability. The reinforced areas in the shoulder, underarm and hip area protect the light shell from contact with rocks.
