Very lightweight, technical ski touring backpack for demanding days in the mountains

Our ski tour backpacks are getting reinforcements: The ultra-light and technical ASCENT 32 is perfect for demanding days in the mountains. That’s why we’ve focused on what’s important and thought through every detail.
This backpack is abrasion resistant but still extremely light thanks to the nylon 100D Robic Ripstop. Despite this reduction in weight we have of course still ensured high wear comfort: The foamed 3D back system distributes the weight evenly between the hip fins and the padded shoulder straps. Features such as the circular zipper that provides quick access to your equipment, a map compartment, hydration system compatibility, as well as a diagonal ski attachment, an ice axe holder and a rope fastening, make the backpack what it is: a technical, ultra-lightweight backpack for challenging ski tours.
The ASCENT 32 also includes our emergency card:  in the case of an emergency, the card provides information about the injured person and therefore allows for faster and more efficient treatment.

Light weight ski backpack that gives you everything you need in a light-weight package. I'm lucky enough to own two Ortovox backpacks for skiing. the Ascent and the Haute Route. Check out my review of the Haute Route pack. The Ascent is a much lighter pack. I really like the zipper that goes around the entire pack, and makes it very easy to get to the contents. You can carry your skis in either an "A-frame" or diagonal attachment. I have found the loop at the bottom of the bag for the Diagonal carry to be a pain to get back into the tiny little "house" its supposed to go back into, so if I'm carrying, I either use the "A-frame" or I just leave the bottom loop out until later when I can fight it back into it's home. Because this is a light weight pack, it does not have the structure that the Haute Route pack has, but when you want to be light and fast, this is a fantastic backcountry pack.
