Description

We don't have anything lighter than this. With 510 g the Economic II is a must have for any racer. The polycarbonate scoop is extremely rigid, absolutely unbreakable, sharp edged and large. The T-handle and sanded shaft provide comfort while shoveling.

Conical shank
The shovel shaft has an oval cross section. The failure characteristics are thus much higher than round cross sections. The same is true for the stiffness. The force transmission and thus the shoveling performance are much higher.

Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is an extremely lightweight and very sturdy plastic, which we use for our light shovels. The shovel scoops are virtually indestructible, but flex strongly and are therefore not as stiff as aluminum scoops.

6061 aluminum T6
The best type of aluminum that we use in our high-end safety products. The relationship between weight and rigidity is optimally explored. The 6061 aluminum T6 is used in all Ortovox shovel shafts and scoops of the Kodiak and Grizzly models.
