The ORTOVOX Search and Training Station is composed of 10 stationary transmitters and a control panel. The transmitters are activated by button via a random generator on the control panel. You can choose between 1, 2, 3 or 4 transmitters being activated simultaneously. The transmitters are covered by plates so that you recognize immediately if you could locate the transmitter. As soon as the transmitters are activated, the clock starts running and signals warn the searcher in certain periods of time.
At the moment the STS is working at the Nebelhorn in Oberstdorf, in Les Alpes (F) and Chamrousse (F) and can be used for free training in the ski areas.
