WARRANTY-TRANSCEIVERS
If you originally bought your ORTOVOX product from an authorized ORTOVOX dealer, we grant a five (5) year ORTOVOX factory warranty on all avalanche transceivers starting with the date of production. The warranty expiration date is indicated on the battery compartment test seal. For example, IV/14 means that the factory warranty period will expire with the end of the 4th quarter 2014. Therefore it was produced the 4th quarter of 2009. Defects caused by accidents, normal use (that dont affect the functions), wear and tear or improper use are excluded from warranty. In case of warranty, we will repair or replace the product. Earphones and batteries are excluded from warranty. Warranty services neither prolong nor renew the period of warranty.


WARRANTY - SAFETY PRODUCTS AND BACKPACKS
If you originally purchased your ORTOVOX product from an authorized ORTOVOX dealer, we grant a two (2) year warranty against manufacturing defects on shovels, probes and backpacks (excluding ABS MASS and Activation Units these parts are warranted by ABS directly). The warranty begins from the date of purchase.

This warranty does not cover the damage caused by improper or extreme use, improper care, or the natural breakdown of material through normal use over time. If a product is deemed defective, Ortovox distributed by Deuter USA will repair or replace the product at our sole discretion. Ortovox distributed by Deuter USA does not sell direct to consumers, therefore monetary refund or credit is not possible with consumer claims.

If damages are not covered under warranty, Ortovox distributed by Deuter USA offers repair services. Charges for repairs will be quoted at the time of evaluation. Please note that Ortovox distributed by Deuter USA does not warrant or offer repair service on any products that are sold and purchased through online auction sites.

TIMING FOR REPAIRS
Turnaround time once Deuter USA, Inc. (Distributing ORTOVOX) receives your products can vary depending on the season. During our peak season, November March, repairs can take four to six weeks once we receive the product. For faster turnaround, please consider sending your products back during the spring and summer months.

SHIPPING POLICY
Deuter USA, Inc. (Distributing ORTOVOX) will cover the shipping from our warranty location (ground shipping) for all items covered under warranty. Customers are responsible for getting the product to the Deuter USA, Inc. warranty department and expedited shipping requests for returned goods.

TRACKING AND INSURANCE FOR ORTOVOX PRODUCTS
We strongly recommend that all returns sent to Deuter USA, Inc. have a tracking number and are insured. Deuter USA, Inc. cannot accept responsibility for shipments that did not arrive or are damaged and uninsured.
