SWISS WOOL LIGHT - NATURAL INSULATION USING SWISS WOOL
After the sensational market launch and winning the ISPO SKIAWARD, ORTOVOX is consistently continuing the SWISS WOOL SUCCESS STORY. At the ispo 2012 the wool experts will present the new, somewhat THINNER and yet still SUSTAINABLY produced SWISS WOOL LIGHT series.
SWISS NEW WOOL
The concept is based on the REGIONAL PRODUCTION of Swiss new wool. Swiss wool has set up its own COLLECTION CENTERS in many Swiss Alpine valleys, some of which are very isolated. At shearing time in the spring shepherds can hand in their pure wool and obtain a FAIR PRICE FOR IT here. Although today keeping sheep and producing wool is often unprofitable, thanks to the SWISSWOOL CENTERS it is experiencing a renaissance and is more attractive than before.
After being weighed the pure wool is washed and prepared. Then ORTOVOX provides the unique design and functionality to create the final product. Each element of the SWISS WOOL LIGHT series comes FROM EUROPE and is produced here with the LOWEST POSSIBLE ENVIRONMENTAL BURDENS and SUSTAINABLE PROCESSES. Long transport routes and unnecessary burdens on the environment are reduced to a minimum.
SWISS WOOL LIGHT
The products in the new SWISS WOOL LIGHT have been developed for MOVEMENT-INTENSIVE MOUNTAIN SPORTS where the focus is on GOOD INSULATION VALUES and LOW WEIGHT. The filling, which weighs 90 g/m², has an EXCELLENT PACKING SIZE and can be compressed perfectly into the PACK SACK provided. Swiss wool has the great advantage over down that it warms even when wet and thus offers large security reserves. The natural fibers are surrounded by ripstop nylon. The external skin repels WIND AND LIGHT RAIN without restricting the breathability.
What makes the ATHLETICALLY cut products special is the FLEXIBLE DESIGN. Both the jacket and the vest are REVERSIBLE PRODUCTS, so can be worn on both sides. The seams and color concept are different on the two sides - so one product offers TWO COLORS and TWO DIFFERENT STYLES.
