SWISS WOOL GLOVES – NATURALLY WARM FINGERS
After the wool experts from ORTOVOX launched the NATURAL INSULATION MATERIAL SWISS WOOL at the last ISPO the SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT CONCEPT has been expanded further for 2012/13. A GLOVE COLLECTION filled with warming Swiss wool is the logical consequence.
SWISS NEW WOOL
The concept is based on the REGIONAL PRODUCTION of Swiss new wool. Swiss wool has set up its own COLLECTION CENTERS in many Swiss Alpine valleys, some of which are very isolated. At shearing time in the spring shepherds can hand in their pure wool and obtain a FAIR PRICE FOR IT here. Although today keeping sheep and producing wool is often unprofitable, thanks to the SWISSWOOL CENTERS it is experiencing a renaissance and is more attractive than before.
SWISS WOOL GLOVES
Pure wool is not only an ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRODUCT, it is also considered an IDEAL INSULATING FIBER for areas that are sensitive to the cold. In the new ORTOVOX glove collection it is placed IN SPECIFIC ZONES. On the palms a lighter (120 g/m²) insulating padding is used whereas the padding on the more sensitive outer side is somewhat thicker (150 / 200 g/m²). The wool fibers are packaged in WIND AND WATER REPELLENT TORAY DERMIZAX EV. The Japanese membrane stands out because of its excellent breathable, stretch and robustness qualities. The GOAT LEATHER INSERT on the palms ensures a delicate grip. In order to ensure that those undertaking winter sports can slide their hands into the gloves easily even when wet, the mountain sports experts at ORTOVOX have given the models a very practical INSERTION AID. Once pulled on the gloves are COZY, SOFT and WARM. The MERINO LINING provides excellent temperature control and prevents unpleasant smells. Both the gloves and the mittens can be adjusted as necessary: The ADJUSTMENTS ON THE SEAM AND BACK WIDTHS ensure they seat perfectly. The elastic LOSS PROTECTION and TRANSPORT KARABINER are extremely convenient. Practical on the MITTEN model: Internal and external gloves can be used separately thus increasing the flexibility of the glove.
